Finish a Series

This is a post about something that I've really needed to talk to other book lovers about. My non bookish friends do not understand, sadly. The first half of this review will be non spoilerly but the second half will refer to The Iron Fey by Julie Kagawa and contain spoilers.

Have you ever fallen so in love with a series that when the final book comes out, even after years of anticipation, you cannot finish the final book? Yup, that happened to me...and the weird thing is...this is the first time it has ever happened to me. I don't know what it is maybe the characters, the plot, the author's writing, I just cannot finish this series.

I love this series with all of my heart and I.Just.Cannot.Finish.It. I've even read the end of the Iron Warrior (oops) so I know what happens but I can't bring myself to finish it. I don't know what the problem is.

Iron Fey was one of the first series I guess I found myself. My friend had been giving me a lot of suggestions but I found this myself, I found it and fell in love. The covers are beautiful (some of my favs of all time), the fantasy is amazing and the ships don't even get me started. And don't get me started on Ash. Just don't.

Spoilers for the series under the cut...

I fell in love with Ash at the start. He's one of my top baes of all time. I shipped him and Megan from the get go, sorry Puck. I read the first four novels so fast it was amazing. The Iron Knight is seriosuly my favorite thing in the world it being in Ash's point of view.

Ash, Megan, Puck. The original three for me. The first trio that I really loved. That's one of the things that kills me about finishing this series. I can't say goodbye to them. I have Ash's face on my wall for pete's sake (I got the poster from the boxset, I'm not a creep okay?) They're great, they're amazing. I can't even describe in words how much I love them.

The world. I love the world in this novel. I love the nevernever. It's amazing. I love fey, I love all the creatures (Including Grim). I couldn't ask for a more perfect fantasy world. I love the usage of magic, summer versus winter versus iron.

I love everything about this series, period.

So...why can't I finish it? I need to know what happens (I know the very end...but how do we get there?) How does Kierran redeem himself? Does Ethan get with Kenzie? Is Grim in the novel?

I've been waiting for over a year for this novel. I read The Iron Traitor over a year ago now in the summer of 2014. I was left so shocked by the end of that novel. And then, there was NO information about the Iron Warrior. There wasn't even a title! Then, magically it seems, towards the beginning of 2015 information appeared on Goodreads. I think I cried. I was so happy. I was so excited to get the book when it came out, I preorded it. It arrived at my doorstep...but I couldn't read it straight away. I had to finish Magnus Chase and Carry On. I read both of those novels, but I couldn't bring myself to pick up the book for weeks.

(show spoiler)

I read the first two chapters but I just can't do it. I can't finish this book. I think I may need help XD Can I finish this? Watch my blog to find out (I don't have much hope though really)

Sorry for my rantish thing? I don't know what this post even really is but I just needed to blog about this! Thanks for reading if you actually got to this point!
